And yes, I have seen some good looking breads turned out of such pots.

Also, keen to hear more about the Mondo's wholesale outlet. Have heard of its existence, and think I even have their pricelist saved somewhere on my computer, but haven't ventured down there yet.Conor @ HoldtheBeefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12593756072189786548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6814738198526107844.post-72803605228082950932009-09-18T09:50:16.944+08:002009-09-18T09:50:16.944+08:00PS you could easily make Carnitas in a large pot (...PS you could easily make Carnitas in a large pot (4 litres or bigger, I think) on the hob, you'd just have to have it at the lowest temperature and keep an eye on itMatt Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06821066673560754150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6814738198526107844.post-34195749182953016622009-09-18T09:49:27.537+08:002009-09-18T09:49:27.537+08:00I don't really see the attraction in those ele...I don't really see the attraction in those electric slow cookers myself, I use enamelled cast iron. I recently splashed out on a Le Chasseur (a slightly cheaper competitor to Le Creuset) and it's great, but before that I had a pot from KMart that was only $40 and got me through hundreds of braises.

Cheap enamelled cast iron is still good, it just might not last as long (Creuset has a lifetime guarantee, Chasseur has 10 years). Get a cheap enamelled cast iron pot, you won't regret it! They're also great for baking bread in, as they create a reasonable simulation of a steam-injected oven.Matt Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06821066673560754150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6814738198526107844.post-23830276484018071272009-09-18T09:44:19.507+08:002009-09-18T09:44:19.507+08:00Oh man this looks good. Recipes like this are why I want to buy myself a slow cooker or a flash enamelled pot, but instead I seem to just continue torturing myself looking at other people's delicious braising efforts.Conor @ HoldtheBeefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12593756072189786548noreply@blogger.com
